National Purple Heart Hall of Honor

Service, Stories, Respect

A new personalized experience for the Hall of Honor not only pays respect to Purple Heart recipients, but also increases awareness for the military decoration with the general public. Guests follow the story of an individual soldier’s life as they move through the exhibit – from boot camp training, service, to their recovery and return to family.

An introductory film presentation shows guests what it’s like to be deployed to a combat zone, promoting themes of service, sacrifice, respect, and reverence. Throughout the galleries there are interactive stations where visitors can hear personal stories from recipients, and first-hand accounts of their healing process, contextualized by interpretive graphics and artifact displays.
