Running Through History
More than just 26.2 grueling miles, the story of the marathon is rich and celebratory, dating back to the Battle of Marathon in Ancient Greece. Guests will experience distance running as an expression of personal freedom as soon as they walk through the door – immersed in a 360° theater showcasing the Power of the Human Spirit.
Digital activities and motion tracking technology facilitate active engagement with specific content – such as race statistics of a favorite athlete. Artifact cases and interpretive graphics are integrated with recreated cobblestone flooring and architectural facades, creating a scenic environment reminiscent of historic downtown Boston.
