Charleston Visitor Center

Learn and Plan

Housed in the historic Railroad Depot building, the Visitor Center includes an Exhibition Hall, marketplace, events space, and passageways leading to tour buses. Design components such as mobile carts – where associates help guests with trip planning – directional speaker panels, and display cases that include seating are integrated with historic architecture to create versatility to successfully serve the different functions of the space.

In the center of the exhibition, back-lit graphics surround a double-sided large video wall, illuminating the space and interpreting history as a dynamic central element. Guests interact with virtual portraiture via touchscreen interface and participate in skills activities as they move through the space.
